Portfolio Example & Artist Statement

I learned how to bead dance regalia at the age of 12, beading for over a decade, this really helped me learn the technical side of flat stitch and lazy stitch which you will see most in my work. I use size 11-13 Beads. As well as Swarovski and Rhinestone banding, all hand stitched. I also work with Dentalium, a rare and prized shell to my Lakota people. Each dentalium shell is hand shaven to protect fragility. Elk Teeth, Skunk Trade Beads, brass sequins, fur ermine tails, porcupine quills, beads, dentalium, smoked animal hide and fire polished rondel beads are what you can expect to see most incorporated into my work.
