Johnson Yazzie

Born and raised on the Navajo Nation, in Pinon, Arizona, Johnson Yazzie has had a lifelong career in the fine arts. Having spent 35 years creating two-dimensional art in the form of paintings, he began sculpting bronze in 2014. He worked as a commercial artist in Phoenix in the mid-1980s, and his work illustrations for books. Johnson is Fluent in Navajo and English, Johnson teaches that the word h�zh� means balance, harmony, and beauty. H�zh� is the word by which he lives.Art in general is appreciated for the sake of its beauty and the artists. A good rapport does guide a person to his or her artist person. Exciting to hear and see an artist who has a human response to both people and place and also possess good personal character. This means a lot to an admirer and society.
