Portfolio Example & Artist Statement

Single piece carved sculptures, utilizing Cedar and Cottonwood. Sculptures are also inlaid with Turquoise and Coral. On occasion they will be adorned with sterling silver jewelry which i also cast . They are hand carved using various tools, chainsaws, dremel, knives and filing rasps. They are stained with natural oils and painted with acrylic paints and sealed with a polyurethane varnish. The bases are also individually made of marble, or hand carved hardwoods. Each piece is one of a kind and depicts the mythology of the Navajo (Dine) traditions. Other tribes and Native American themes are prevalent in my artwork.
