It starts with the offering of Corn Pollen, prayers and the dreams I receive from my spirit helpers. My quilts take around 18 months to make, from the dreams to the last stitch. I use fabric from my 62 bins stash or driving to different states for fabric. Using cotton fabric, batting and thread, commercial buttons, zippers, beads and leather. With the help of my Bernina 770QE, I am able to do machine applique and put the quilt together. The Bernina 16 longarm, it make my job easier by quilting the backing, batting and quilt top together. I hand stitch my binding and I do have a small strip of white fabric in the binding to honor my Grandmas who weave. Plus it lets all the bad stuff that people leave on the quilt to escape and disappear into the Wind or Mother Earth.
