In creating my pottery, I use traditional materials such as the native Acoma clay and clay pigments which come from my local surroundings. I use traditional coiling and shaping techniques to make my pieces such as seed pots, plates, jars, vases and a variety of other forms. I paint with a commercial bristle brush and fire in an electric kiln. My inspiration comes from gathering ancient pottery sherds around my Pueblo. I use these designs and incorporate my own modern geometric and fine line designs. Seeing what I can create further enhances my passion for creativity and carry on an art form that was passed down from my ancestors.
