I am a mixed-media artist from Kinłitsosinil (Churchrock), New Mexico. As a teenager I was often left to my own devices and found myself dealing with homelessness and alcohol addiction. In my solace, I found that art, comic books, skateboarding, graffiti culture, and poetry were what kept me grounded. The drive to create something beautiful became my only motivation to keep going forward. I have been sober for nearly a year now, and art has become my full-time passion.Growing up I lacked direction and connection with my culture and it's through my work that I am able to explore who I am as a Diné man, artist, and human being. I like to combine my passion for skateboarding/graffiti culture with my Navajo background by merging traditional motifs and Navajo storytelling into my artwork. I try to carefully balance subject matter with bold colors and intricate linework. I use acrylic paint on canvas or paper. My linework is always done by hand with acrylic paint and a script brush.
