Portfolio Example & Artist Statement
Sandra Victorino

The materials used are traditional ground clay, the sculpting tools are gourds and wooden tools for scraping. Rain water, wild spinach, and hemitight are used to create the black paint. Yucca stems are used to paint and design the pottery. Pottery is all handmade with tradition clay and sculpted with traditional technique. Smooth stones are used for polishing pottery. Pottery is painted with yucca brushes and fired outdoors and kilm. Designs on the pottery are all handed down and unique.
