Portfolio Example & Artist Statement

As a Sculptor I describe my Art as Figurative, Contemporary and Abstract. I primarily sculpt in Stone but also Cast Bronze Sculptures. I draw upon my rich heritage as a Native American to bring forth concepts that inspire and evoke thought within our culturally dynamic Country.Throughout my 33 years of sculpting I have had a chance to work with many stones from quarries around the world. A variety of materials have complimented my concepts. Marble, Onyx, Calcite, Alabaster, Granite, Limestone, Cast Bronze, Precious Stones, Precious Metals, Ivory, Leather, Exotic Woods, Clay, Wax and few others have also been used. When Stone Carving I utilize Traditional and Contemporary Sculpting Techniques to achieve my vision. I enjoy carving in the 'Round,' as well as Bah Relief Sculpture. My Abstract sculptures are organic forms mixed with sharp linear lines. My Figurative work is blended with Contemporary design.I continue to strive within my artistry to create a collection of fine art.
