Portfolio Example & Artist Statement

I paint using acrylics on the following: canvas, paper, leather and raw hide, My primary designs are petroglyph art images in the background and overlapping designs from traditional and contemporary Zia Pueblo designs. The use of acrylic allows me to create my work in various colors. I mostly use earth tones. I love painting horses in various forms as well as other animals, dragonflies, butterflies, elk, deer, Pueblo stylized birds and flowers and other Pueblo stylized motifs. All my paintings are originals and one of a kind. The canvas and paper work is mostly framed. The leather shields are stretched over a round hoop and adorned with feathers, trade cloth and elk/deer antler buttons.
