I design Jackets, ribbon shirts, handbags and accessories, fabrics used are flannel wool, trade cloth, satin , southwest print cotton, velvet and canvas. I cut all materials and design into garments and use home model sewing machines and sergers. I cut out Navajo geometric or native motifs or geometric designs and feeehand appliqué to the garments. The garments either will tell a story of my Dine’ Life of the landscapes, animals, home and travels of the Navajo Nation. I see my garments as wearable art for all who love our indigenous style in the modern world! The fabric is my canvas , thread my paint and the embellishment as the texture .
