My art is inspired by Northeastern Woodlands pottery. I use both traditional and contemporary methods to create it. Each pottery vessel is formed using all natural hand mixed clays and by hand building and/or hand throwing. The surface designs and textures are created by hand burnishing, incising, carving and sculpting. The firing process is completed with a kiln and/or a primitive dung fire out of doors. There are no paints used. The result is one of a kind flame and smoke patterns. Each original vessel is hand signed and dated.
