Portfolio Example & Artist Statement

I use all native clays, slips, and paints from my Dine reservation. I hand coil and pinch pot my pieces, sand then burnish my pieces with a white ship clay. My burnishing is done with a riverstone. Some of my pieces are fired outdoors and others are fired in a kiln. I incorporate inlaid silver and precious stones into some of my pieces. I am also a silversmith and use my skills to add more dimension to my pottery as with my hummingbird pottery. They have a silver sterling beak and turquoise or coral eyes for example.
