My paintings are a flat studio style technique that is quite simple in form however complex in technique. I use a variety of mediums, primarily acrylic and pastel paints and crayons. Most images are a pencil sketch of the main characters, and then painted in by paintbrush. I do washes, much like watercolor techniques by soaking my paper and washing paint over the entire surface. I use this for background areas, my work is highly detailed, to achieve my fine lines, I use very small, tipped brushes. Most of my images depict animals, people and landscapes that range from the whimsical to the abstract. My culture inspires many of images and the stories than accompany each painting. My materials range from using handmade paper, fabrics, canvas and watercolor paper. I use acrylic paint in a water-based form and finish my work with pan pastels. Sometimes I use a technique of splattering paint to complete a piece. I use a toothbrush to achieve an almost airbrush like quality.
