Portfolio Example & Artist Statement

12”x13” Kiowa Bandolier (completed February 2024): made from navy trade wool, white traditional buckskin, agate blue silk ribbons, Indian head nickel buttons, silver sequins, red and navy cotton thread, light blue cotton thread, cotton red bias tape, blue floral satin, bone carved faux elk ivory, size 11 Miyuki delica beads. The technique of beadwork used for the strap and the bag design is Comanche brick stitch, in a similar fashion to peyote stitch, the beadwork was completed with size 12 John James needles, and 00 white nylon thread. Hanpas (May 2023) women size 10, buckskin, white, French yellow, merlot red, navy and light blue, size 13 vintage and antique charlotte cut beads, made using two needle flat stitch technique with size 15 John James needles and 00 Nylon thread Southern style soft bracelet (October 2023) Size 11 Miyuki Delica beads, 00 nylon thread, smoked hide, technique for beadwork is Comanche brick stitch, the edging also consists of miyuki delica beads
