I am from Jemez Pueblo, NM and Chickasaw in OK. I began working with clay at 19 years old. My grandma taught me where to finds the best clays and how to create fine pottery using traditional construction and firing techniques. For over 35 years i have used this knowledge, passed down through family, to create one of a kind works.I am well known for my melon swirls, seed pots, wedding vases and Chickasaw inspired designs which vary in size and elegant shapes. I work with red, buff, green and charcoal, sometimes adding a micaceous slip for subtle sparkle. All my pieces are traditionally handmade with contemporary designs. My work is carried by the Smithsonian, Heard, U.S. Department of Interior as well as leading galleries in AZ, CO, Kansas, NM, OK, Oregon, Maine, TX, UT, and more.
