I use natural clay that is harvested from my Pueblo, mixed with volcanic ash temper also harvested from my Pueblo area. My pots are pinch formed and deep carved. Each piece is stone polished by hand using a natural red clay slip. I use a traditional out door firing for both red and black pots. For black pieces I smother the fire with dry horse manure to create the black color, and only wood firing to create the red pots.
