Kathryn Hopkins (Cattaraugus Indian Reservation, New York, 1986) is the lead designer of House of Hopkins, whose works include elaborately beaded clutches, and jewelry. Her works are constructed of diverse materials from seed and artisan glass beads, porcupine quills, crystal cup chain, gold-plated and stainless-steel findings, fine textiles, soft leather to upcycled fur. It was from observing her mother bead and sew, that she developed an interest in Fashion Design. As a Seneca, her designs incorporate traditional Haudenosaunee raised beadwork, a unique and discerning style of Native American embroidery. With a Bachelor of Arts in Fashion Management, (with a concentration in Fashion Merchandising) she has sought experience, and design inspiration by working in various areas of retail. Kathryns' designs come from the heart. Her use of color creates statement pieces sure to compliment any trendsetter.
