Jennifer Hicks artworks uses multiple techniques to create very unique artwork. My work uses fine detail to create a “clean” artpiece. “Seven Sisters” painting tells the Kiowa story of how seven sisters became the stars of the Big Dipper using 24 kt gold beads, glass beads, watercolor, cutwork, multiple layering, and a custom shadowbox frame to tell the story. The painting photo “Rad Men” is a parody my father’s favorite Red Man chewing tobacco. Materials used are gouache on heavy Arches 300 lb paper. The surrounding diamond and points design is based on Osage ribbon work. “Four Directions Arrowheads” was inspired from my father’s arrowhead collection. The artwork is comprised of three layers with cutwork and specially mounted to give a multidimensional effect. The top layer painting uses watercolor and a glass beads for the arrowhead ties as well as glass beads for the mat layer and a bottom “stars and moon painting”. Custom shadow box frame.
