For traditional necklaces: Rough stone is cut using lapidary saw into strips. Strips are cut into squares. Each square is drilled and strung onto wire. Using lapidary equipment each strand is ground, sanded and polished. Then, each strand is strung onto nylon thread. All strands are then wrapped in a traditional finish with wax thread or finished with sterling silver cones and clasps. For Mosaic work: Base layer is cut from shell. Rough stones and shells are cut into small pieces using lapidary saw. Mosaic work is done on shell using an industrial epoxy. Lapidary machines are used to grind, sand and polish. Earrings and pendants are drilled for silver wire or wax thread.
