For over 50 years I have been expressing myself through an ancient method of utilizing molten wax and dyes to create my art on cotton fabric. Because I was trained as a traditional oil painter beginning at a very young age, I use brushes rather than metal tools to create unique designs that is commonly known as batik. My creations result in a multilevel, entirely curious presentation that are dry mounted under glass. It is a very satisfying yet complicated process that most artists find frustrating yet I have continued to wrestle with throughout all of these 54 years. I begin this journey straight out of art school at the University of Oklahoma out of financial necessity due to the cost of traditional materials . Sometimes I wonder why I continue to challenge myself?
