Ya'teeh, I am, Gilbert Begay, a Navajo weaver from the Eastern Navajo Agency. This year, will be my 40th years of Navajo weaving and I learned from my paternal grandmother and maternal grandmother. My textile is both mixed with a share-warp technique or a inner-lock technique which I was taught from both grandmothers. From time to time, I hand card/hand spin the wool fleece throughout the years and I weave with it rarely. I am well known for my woven hand bags that I have created since the year 2010. As of today, I continue to weave in Navajo Beauty on a traditional up-right loom. At my age now, I noticed that I have slow down and take my own time weaving.Thank you for taking time to read this.Gilbert BegayNavajo Weaver
