Portfolio Example & Artist Statement

The clay is mined from Acoma Pueblo. To process the shale clay you have to soak and grinded the clay mixed with old pottery shards. The pottery is hand formed using wooden tools to create seed pots, gourd to form plates and using a pinching method to form 3D aminals. The paint is created by grinding onto a rock using rain water. The paint itself is an iron oxide paint mixed with boiled wild spinach plant.
