l learned all aspects of the Passamaquoddy black ash basket making tradition from my grandfather, everything from locating the black ash tree, processing the log into weaving material, and weaving the basket. Over the past 25 years I have strived to honor my grandfather’s style of basket making while incorporating my own modern aesthetic.
