SWAIA Ta 'c meeywi (good morning)My name is Frank Andrews and I am from the Colville Confederated Tribes (Nez Perce Band) and Dine’ (Navajo). I am a multi-disciplined artist focusing on drawing and painting. I work a lot in mixed media and refer to my artwork as “pop surrealism”. I mix imagery and attitudes to create a simplistic composition. I have been gravitating toward animal imagery particularly from home. I graduated from the Institute of American Indian Arts in 2017, and have been making art since then. I am inspired by my newfound adoration and respect for the history of my culture and my roots on the Colville reservation, where I currently reside. Our tribe has had a blessing; a gift of bison that have come back to our land, and I find their presence compelling. I originally started painting them early last year, and they have arrived in the late fall, which there is some serendipity and humor to that Ft.unate action.Qe'ciyew'yew' (thank you)
