Portfolio Example & Artist Statement

As a Navajo Artist I believe we are limited in local resources that can provide us with exotic materials, whereas in my work I use Mediterranean Coral, Spiny Oyster Shell (Purple, Red, and Orange), and Tahiti Black Pearl. All of my artwork is created with Sterling Silver Metals, and is casted into a cuttlebone fish, for the texture that it gives, and also Tufa Stone, for the naturality of the stone itself. When working with the stones, I try and use the natural shape of the stone as best, as to not stray away from its beauty. But if needed I would grind and shape stones to inlay some bracelets that i do have.
