Portfolio Example & Artist Statement

I use heavy gauge sterling silver plates and wires to make jewelry. I use an acetylene with a torch tip as fuel to heat the silver and solder the silver together to make beautiful cluster jewelry. I use sterling silver bezel to cup the natural stones, each bezel cup is soldered together and designs are measured and soldered on to the plate one at a time. For thick turquoise I will make a handmade bezel stamped with designs, cut & filed smoothly. There is twist wire around the main center stones and round beads soldered between each bezel cup edges. Heavy gauge silver wire is used to link necklaces. For the bracelets and rings they are pounded and formed to shape. I use natural coral, royston turquoise, natural sleeping beauty turquoise, orange/purple/red spiny oyster sea shells and lapis. I heat, cut, solder, set stones, and buff to complete each piece.
