Caleigha Gotthardt is Inupiaq and Dena'ina Athabascan from Anchorage Alaska. She is a self taught, emerging artist that is internationally recognized with her work on display in Alaska and Canada. Her mediums are Walrus Ivory, Bowhead whale baleen, mastodon, Sealskin, Sea otter, caribou, deer, and silversmithing. All Hides that are utilized are locally harvested and home tanned by Caleigha or members of the community. All Walrus Ivory and Baleen is obtained through subsistence means and worked on with a combination of power tools (Dremel, belt sander, bandsaw, metal files, Jewelers Saw) and hand sanding (sand paper).
