Ya’teeh, I am honored to introduce myself as a fourth generation Navajo weaver. Born and raised on Navajo Reservation, my traditional upbringing has deeply inspired my weaving journey and continues influencing my art. Weaving has been a integral part of my life, not just as a craft but as a means to connect with my heritage and surroundings; my creations draw directly from the environment around my home, incorporating the vibrant colors of landscape and mesmerizing formations of the mesas. Each piece tells a story, reflecting the beauty and spirit of my homeland. A crucial aspect of process is raising churro sheep, from harvesting, cleaning, carding the wool to spinning and all natural dyed with hand pick materials I gather throughout the seasons. I also enjoy experiencing diverse techniques, incorporating beads, and soumack twining into my design. Over the years I have embraced non-regional style, weft-face tapestry weaves; interlock join methods, woven on vertical Navajo loom.
