Portfolio Example & Artist Statement

I paint with acrylics on canvas. I use acrylics that are high quality opaque or iridescent paints. Right now I am using Rheotech Acrylic Paints but have also used Stevensons paints in the past. My acrylic brushes are synthetic and I use various sizes, both flat and round. The canvas I purchase and use is standard, pre-stretched 13-ounce canvas. My inspiration comes from different aspects of my Dene Culture - such as living a traditional way of life on the land, animals and legends. The Northern Dene are related to the Navajo and Apache. I have visited the American Southwest many times in the past 30 years. I was involved with the Spirits in the Sun Art Show in Scottsdale in 1998 along with many other shows, worldwide. I work in my private studio at home in the small Dene community of Fort Good Hope, in the Northwest Territories of Canada.
