My original teacher in clay was Polingaysi Qoyawayma (AKA Elizabeth White).The clay is from the Hopi reservation. I use coil, carving and repousse, ("to push out"). Construction: coil construction, carved and incised motif. I use clay slips for coloration prior to polishing. My pieces have stone-polished surfaces and matte textures. The pieces are are kiln fired.
