Portfolio Example & Artist Statement

My artistic philosophy is based on the profound interplay between form and function that I discover when exploring wheel throwing. My passion for this art goes beyond simple aesthetic appreciation; it is a commitment to creating useful pottery that melds perfectly with everyday life.My deep desire to weave beauty, my native american culture and art into the fabric of ordinary moments is the core of my motivation. The transformative power of functional art, the kind that stimulates the senses and elevates the everyday rituals in our lives, fascinates me. My passion for what I do comes from my conviction that art has the ability to elevate the commonplace and transform the utilitarian into an aesthetic delight. I try to encourage a more meaningful and in-depth interaction with the objects that surround us with every piece I make. I'm motivated to continuously push the limits of my own creativity in addition to honing my skills in this dynamic and iterative artistic journey.
